Keep running because I love it!!

I live in beautiful Cache Valley.  I can't wait for spring, I have a need to get up on the canyon trails.  I like to mountain bike, run, go jeepin', and shoot guns.

Welcome back!

From dschulz on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 18:53:54

Thank you. I forgot how good I feel when I run.

From Jon on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 19:14:08

Yeah! Let us know when you want to run with us to help keep your habit going.

From dschulz on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 19:24:58

Thank you. I will. I figure that I will keep it up, then I might get a hankering to want to run a race. I figure it will be a few months until I get my speed back.

Ran on the TOU course with Oscar.  He is an "animal", literally.  4 miles and he was still wanting to go.  I wonder what it will take to wear him out.

34 minutes, 3 dog stops

Death to the Garmin's!

From dschulz on Wed, Sep 03, 2008 at 15:50:24

Yes, I am still alive. I will be adding runs on occasion. Thanks for the comments. The Garmin dying was almost an excuse for me to turn around and end my run, because everybody knows, the run doesn't count if it's not recorded on the Garmin.

Ran the Logan River Trail up to 3rd dam.  Oscar went the whole way.  I noticed a little fatigue in him but I want to find his limit.  He kicked it in the last mile so the fatigue may have been bordom.  I am sore and walking a little funny but I feel great.

Ran on the TOU course.

48:12 minutes.

I felt good the first 2 miles actually running the first mile in 6:55.  Kept a 7:30ish pace for the 2nd mile.  Then just died for the last 4 miles.  Maybe I went out too fast.

Oscar did really good.  Only one puppy break.  He sure likes to mark up the whole neighborhood.

Ran with Kurt, a friend from work, on our lunch break.  We kept it pretty slow because it was Kurt's first run.  We did a run/walk.

~42 minutes

Dan,

Nice to see you are back to blogging. Hope your training is going well.

From dschulz on Thu, Sep 11, 2008 at 17:38:50

Training is going well. I will keep going and make progress. Right now I am just building up my base and not worrying about pace. I need to drop 15-20lbs before I think about racing again.

Thanks for your comment.

Lunch time walk/run with Kurt and Carl.  It was Carl's first time and he did good.  We worked on his form for the first half mile to try to make him more efficient.  He is kind of a loper.  Kurt wasn't dissappointed that we were a little slower this time because his legs were still sore from Tuesdays run.

~54 minutes.
